May Day!

Please join Who You Callin’ Illegal
and other community groups for the
two May 1st Immigrant Rights Marches!

May 1st is a historical day of migrant struggle and working class struggle in addition to being, for many different cultural traditions, a day for celebrating connections with nature and each other.

For a short history of May Day see The Incomplete, True, Authentic and Wonderful History of MAY DAY by Peter Linebaugh here

We will be holding our banner and signs. Look out for us!

Anti-Capitalist May Day March

March at 6PM

The Stranger blog reports that multiple local community organizers were visited by the FBI regarding May Day in the last few days (“May Day Is Around the Corner, and the FBI Wants Us to Know They’re Watching”). Community organizers were asked about their plans and social / political connections for May day which reminds us of the history of McCarthyism. It appears this is an attempt to discourage participation.

We encourage all to attend both May Day marches. The May First Coaltion march starts with a rally at St. Mary’s church at 1PM. The march begins at 2:30PM., the Anti Capitalist march at Broadway and Pine at 6PM. If you come to the second march, you don’t have to wear black or a mask. Please come out to show solidarity with grand jury resisters as well as to oppose capitalism, the state, and all forms of oppression and domination.

Prepare for May Day!
